I believe I possess some admirable qualities such as perseverance, ingenuity, hardwork (as we say in London, I’m a grafter mate or a hustler). These strengths also exposed some vulnerabilities in me to be honest. I don’t have a term to ascribe to it, but I’ll try. I realized that I like to have 100% control over a situation and usually falters when I have only a 40 – 50% input to contribute – the missing half can lead to stress and headaches, not to talk of heartaches!
This brings me to the subject of stress. Stress is a silent killer that has been well documented in medical journals. Stress can hide under a fit body composition (32″ waist, shredded torso, tanned skin or those perfect glutes on instagram). It can hide under those perfect smiles, hiding under the chassis of that F-type red Jaguar whilst cruising on the country lanes – oh boy! I can dream.
Whilst creativity and perseverance are good traits, learning to reduce stress and handle trigger points are vital to our long-term health and well-being.
